Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was first person to reach a flawless 10 in an Olympic occasion. Bela Karrolyi was an Romanian gymnastics teacher who later became the coach for Comaneci, first discovered Comaneci when she was just six years old. The first time she competed was at The National Junior Championships in where she placed 13th in 1969. In the year 1970, she won. She took home three golds at her debut competition, a junior pre-Olympic meet in 1972, which was a communist countries. The following year, 1973 as well as 1974, she was the junior all-round champion. When she competed for the first time as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion, winning 4 gold medals and one silver. In 1976 she became the world's first woman to utilize a reversed double salto to dismount from the parallel bars. Carol Wayne..........................
